Talk about a night of experience. About six hours before arrival time I received a phone call from my photo editor that he wasn't going to be able to help that night because he tested positive for COVID-19. This meant I would be shooting, editing, and submitting between rounds, which I hadn't done in awhile. Despite that I was still confident going in as I'm used to tagging my own images during each fight to help my editor find selects quickly. On this night behind the scenes was considered a plus and I was on my own to cover every fight. All the boxers arrived and prepped within an hour of the first bell. Fortunately I had shot at this location before so I was able to move efficiently through the venue to cover hand wraps and even capture some arrivals. I ran back and uploaded those images right before the first bell. The rest of the night went smoothly. I was able to tag my favorites in camera and upload photos between rounds. Grateful to have had what I feel was a successful night. Thank you to Amanda and Mark Westcott for the opportunity!
