As you can see from my previous work, I rarely convert my photographs to black and white. Between photojournalism school and when I worked for a newspaper for nearly two years, where sports images were primarily printed/shared in color, it's somewhat engrained in me to think color first. While color will always be my first choice, I'm open to the alternative. Converting images to black and white can change how we view the photo (besides the obvious.) It may also change the contrast, the focus, the mood. I photographed all the images in this gallery with the intention of sharing them in color, but as somewhat of a challenge to myself I converted the majority. There's a few I had to keep in color, because the color provided so much more information to the photograph. Have a look.
