It was great working with Edgar Berlanga from making his first portraits for Matchroom, DAZN through all of fight week. I especially appreciated how much he included his father in photos whenever he could. To capture each important moment with him side-by-side. Within the past year I've started to make portraits of boxers with their fathers. I look forward to sharing that project some day. In the meantime I'll share one of Edgar with his father, Edgar Sr., and a fight night behind-the-scenes moment of Khalil Coe with his father, Paul Byrd.
On a personal note regarding the last two photos of Madison Square Garden: It was pretty special to see the portrait I made of Edgar on the big screen in front of the iconic Madison Square Garden. Definitely one for the memory books.
