Nate & Lindsey Family Portraits - Photos by Melina Pizano - 11/02/19

I went to Colorado recently to visit my friends, Nate and Lindsey. They asked me to take their family photos while I was there. It's completely out of my norm, but I was open to it. I hadn't brought my camera so I used Nate's Sony A7III and Rokinon 85mm 1.4 lens, which I was completely unfamiliar with both the camera and lens. I practiced a little at their home the day before. I wish we had one more person to take behind the scenes of everything that went on because it was a little chaotic. It had snowed a couple days prior so we had to scrap the original location idea, but I still love how this location worked out. Vince (tan dog) and Russel (black dog) ran around in the background as I tried to capture a few of just Nate, Lindsey, and their son, Colby. When it came to taking the photo of the five of them, Willis (my dog), who was on leash and tied to my belt loop, barked non-stop because he just wanted to go run around with Vince and Russel. On top of that I mentioned using Nate's camera and lens, which had no auto focus because it's a film lens. To be honest I use auto focus often because I don't trust my eyes. Regardless of all of that we got it done. I'm pleasantly surprised at the outcome and they loved the photos.
