Andrade vs Akavov Weigh-In - Photos by Melina Pizano/Matchroom Boxing - 01/17/19

For weigh-ins the PR shot is always covered by our lead photographer, Ed Mulholland. I normally sit a couple of rows behind him to get the same shot to post for personal use, but this time around I tried out different vantage points. Initially I started from the side, but there was a lot of movement on stage so I went back behind the DAZN video cameras and shot with my 70-200. I couldn't clear some heads even though I'm 5'10 and I was standing on my tippy toes so I changed it up again by shooting from the balcony above the room the weigh-ins were taking place.  I liked this vantage point the best because not only could you see the whole stage, but also the whole promotional banner (which is normally not seen in PR shots.) While I still prefer the up close shot by our lead or even the shot from behind the DAZN cameras (if I could clear those heads) it was fun to be creative and see what I could come up with.
